Simon’s law practice focuses primarily on immigration and refugee litigation. He has 24 years of experience appearing in hearings and appeals before all four divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board (Refugee Protection Division, Refugee Appeal Division, Immigration Appeal Division and Immigration Division) and judicial reviews before the Federal Court.  Simon has handled over 2,000 cases with clients from over 120 countries. Simon is able to resolve complex and challenging cases successfully. Simon also represents clients on Humanitarian and Compassionate application, Pre Removal Risk Assessment and Spousal Sponsorship application.

Simon was a volunteer immigration lawyer at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre. He was also a member of the Northern Alberta Appeal Committee of Legal Aid Alberta.

Simon has delivered numerous presentations on immigration and refugee law to various community agencies in Edmonton which support immigrants and refugees.  Simon was also invited as the Master of Ceremony for the 25th year anniversary celebration of the private sponsorship of refugees program at the City Hall in Edmonton.

As a result of his dedication in serving his clients and the high quality of representation, Simon was selected to be the recipient of Legal Aid Alberta’s first annual Lawyer Appreciation Award under the Roster Lawyer category in Edmonton.
